recovery packages

Ermha Recovery Packages provide intensive support to individuals who are experiencing a mental illness and/or disability.

Recovery Packages provide medium to long term support for people who are experiencing a mental illness and who have an Individual Support Package. Individual Support Packages are provided to clients who have multiple or complex needs and who are currently receiving assistance from the Victorian Department of Human Services (DHS).

Ermha Recovery Package staff, in consultation with DHS, the client and relevant stakeholders, including carers, develop Individual Support Plans (ISP) that are tailored, flexible, holistic and client centred.

As well as experiencing a severe and enduring mental illness, Recovery Package clients are often either homeless or living in low cost accommodation or a clinical setting, and their lives may be complicated by one or more of the following
• Drug or alcohol dependence
• Intellectual disability
• Physical disability
• Chronic physical illness
• Behavioural disorder
• Acquired Brain Injury
• Repeated unplanned hospital admission
• Involvement with justice or corrections systems
These issues can seriously impair clients’ ability to
• Obtain or maintain secure, suitable accommodation
• Gain access to specialist mental health services
• Participate in, and contribute to, community activities
• Maintain basic levels of self and home care
• Gain access to mainstream or specialist health and
social support services

Recovery Packages provides a wraparound service that comprises individualised support, case management and crisis response. This tailored, comprehensive approach seeks to identify clients’ support needs early and address them effectively.

Clients are referred to this program by the Victorian Government’s Department of Human Services.
