Partners in Recovery (PIR) focuses on support for people with severe and persistent mental illness with complex needs and their carers and families. An Australia-wide initiative, PIR seeks to create better collaboration and coordination between services and agencies that support this target group.
PIR encourages innovative solutions that enhance service access, and it promotes tailored responses to service users’ needs.
PIR was designed to assist in meeting the needs of people with mental illness who may also be experiencing substance use issues, unstable housing and difficulty managing basic activities of daily living. People who experience these problems often fall through gaps in the service system and require more intensive support to address their needs.
Some of the services PIR seeks to coordinate include primary and clinical care services, community mental health organisations, and education, employment, housing and income support services.
Ermha’s PIR staff are based in Dandenong and in our Casey/Cardinia offices.
