Recovery. Independence. Community. Inclusion.
Ermha provides community-based support to people experiencing mental illness and disability, their carers and families.
Ermha;s support is evidence-based and rests on three central principles:
- Mutual trust and respect in the support relationship
- Support that is guided by clients strengths and values
- Client self-determination
Where possible Ermha workers help build and facilitate a support team that can include family, carers, friends, clinicians and others. This is because a strong support system helps clients build self confidence and a stronger sense of meaning and identity. These qualities assist clients to focus on their goals and the actions needed to achieve them.
Ermha provides individualised, one-to-one support that offers an holistic approach to recovery and independence. Many Ermha clients find that recovery is enhanced when stable housing, improved physical health, stronger relationshipsand creative expression are addressed in a recovery plan.
